Job Brief
Achievers is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant with at least 1 year of experience in accounting to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, auditing financial documents, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting transactions, including fixed payments and variable expenses
- Prepare and update budget forecasts
- Publish financial statements in a timely manner
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure timely bank payments and monitor cash flows
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
- Report on the company's financial health and liquidity
- Audit financial transactions and documents to ensure compliance
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
- Comply with financial policies and regulations
Requirements and Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Assistant Accountant
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as FreshBooks and QuickBooks
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant degree
- Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus
